People are not dying in the UK!

Ok I am just messing with you (insert smiley). On a serious note, The Telegraph is reporting that the UK population is bursting at the seams and that come 2050 it will be the largest country in Europe due to immigration and an ageing population.

It turns out that the elderly are dying at a much slower rate than babies are being born. This means that a quarter of the population will be over 65 in 3 decades. Right now the average girl will live up to 82 years due to innovations in health care and lifestyle. While this should call for celebration there are implications to this, some of which include fewer people of working age to support those of pension age.

Immigration is the other issue as more than 250,000 migrants are coming in yearly though net migration has been stable for the last year. For more see The telegraph.
